FORGOTTEN EMERGENCIES
Up to date information on the world's hot spots with an emphasis on Africa .
Evariste Karangwa, Program Director for Africa
The need for relief is undeniable. The need for long-term assistance remains a necessity. The outpouring of compassion from the world is unprecedented. When so much of the world's attention is turns to the crisis du jour - South Asia Tsunami, food shortage in Niger , hurricane in Central America -- Lutheran World Relief remains committed to the "forgotten emergencies" and the needs of all who hunger, hurt, and live in fear. Before, during and after any crisis that might be aired on the TV news, LWR continues its work in 35 countries around the world, including many emergency and long-term development efforts in areas that are in danger of being forgotten because they have-at least temporarily-fallen from the headlines: Sudan , Liberia , Niger , the Congo and other hot spots. Get the most up-to-date information on LWR's response to the world's "forgotten emergencies" with an emphasis on Africa . Questions for Evariste and other discussion are invited now at the web forum, www.lwr.org/forum.
