Malaria is a preventable and treatable disease that kills more than a million people a year, the majority of them children. As Christians we must not stand by and let this happen. That’s why LWR is working to make sure people have the knowledge and tools they need to prevent malaria.
LWR is also a partner in the Lutheran Malaria Initiative, an unprecedented collaborative effort among the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) and Lutheran World Relief to mobilize the nearly 8 million Lutherans in the United States to join the battle against malaria. The Lutheran Malaria Initiative is made possible through a partnership with the United Nations Foundation.
