J.A. Minja operates a small store near Marangu, Tanzania, to supplement the income from his coffee harvests. His store profits are also limited, however, because the coffee farmers in the area cannot afford to purchase supplies from him when receiving such low prices for their coffee. The LWR Coffee Project gives new hope to J.A. and other area farmers, though, because a fairer price for their coffee harvest gives them the income needed for groceries, medicines, building supplies and clothing.
