A New Kind of Development

By joining in partnership with the farmers of Kuapa Kokoo to establish the Divine Chocolate, LWR is equipping and empowering the cooperative to take a more active role in the cocoa industry and build the market for their cocoa products in the United States.

Members of Kuapa Kokoo are involved in the business decisions from “bean to bar,” and benefit not only when they sell their beans at a Fair Trade price, but also when they receive a share of the profits from the sale of their cocoa products.

This is LWR’s opportunity to “put our money where our mouth is” and invest in a trade model that we have advocated for and educated about since the launch of the LWR Coffee Project in 1996.
