How do I make a donation on my mobile phone (How does it work)?
Just text LWR to the number 40579 – Use the short code 40579 in place of a phone number in the “to” field. Then enter LWR in the body of the text and hit Send. Remember to reply with the word YES to the confirmation message. A $10 donation will automatically show up on your next phone bill.

I received a message saying that my cell carrier is not participating in this campaign. Why? And what do I do?
Unfortunately not all cell carriers participate in mobile giving (but most carriers are participating). There is a chance that your cell carrier has not yet signed on to the campaign, so you can try again in a few days. Or you can make an online donation at lwr.org/giving.

I received a message saying that my donation didn’t work. What do I do now? (note: this is different than the message about carriers not participating.)
Due to high volume on the cell network and mobile giving systems, you may receive an incorrect confirmation message. Please note, however, that your original text is being recorded, and you will receive a confirmation message at a later time. Just reply with the word YES when you do get that confirmation message, and your donation will be accepted. If you prefer to make a gift online, please go to lwr.org/giving.

Should receive a confirmation/thank you message AFTER I reply YES?
Yes, after texting LWR to 40579, you will receive text asking you to confirm the donation by texting YES back. You should receive a final confirmation after that. Please note that some carriers may not send final confirmation text messages, but most carriers do.

Will I receive a tax-deductible receipt for my charitable donation to LWR?
Yes, your bill from your mobile carrier will serve as your tax-deductible receipt. All gifts for Haiti relief made through March 1 are tax-deductible for 2009!

How many times can I make a donation on my mobile phone?
While this number may vary, most cell carriers will allow you to make a donation to LWR up to three times.
